I spent a good portion of this weekend at a dance convention/competition with my youngest daughter. She loves these things, but they're kind of exhausting for me! The competitions run until 11pm or later and then the convention classes start at 8am or earlier, so the kids end up dancing all day and night on about 6 hours of sleep. I really admire their dedication to their craft! At the conclusion of the convention today, awards and scholarships were given out. I was so proud to see my daughter awarded a "Die Hard Dancer" award. Each member of the convention faculty recognizes one student out of the hundreds attending to bestow this honor upon. My daughter was recognized by the ballet teacher. She wasn't expecting it at all, and it really made her feel special. I am happy that it teaches her that hard work and commitment really does pay off.
